Affiliate disclosure

Doseworth is reader-facing and advertiser-funded. Some outbound links on this site are affiliate or referral links. If you follow one and go on to start a program or buy a product, we may be paid a commission by that provider or by the affiliate network that represents it.

You pay the same either way. Commission is a share of the provider's own margin, paid to us for the referral. Nothing is added to your bill, and arriving through us does not raise your price or forfeit any offer you would otherwise have had. This disclosure is made in line with the FTC's guidance on endorsements and material connections.

One thing: a reader who follows a tracked link and becomes a customer. That is the entire revenue model. Specifically, we are not paid for any of the following, and no arrangement of that kind exists:

• Not paid per review. Nobody buys a write-up, and no company has ever paid to be covered.
• Not paid for a position. There is no sponsored slot, no featured tier, and nothing purchasable at the top of a board.
• Not paid for a verdict. Commission does not change what a page concludes about a provider's pricing.
• Not paid to omit. No company pays for something unflattering to be left out or taken down.
• Not paid in display advertising. There are no ad slots, no programmatic banners and no sponsored content on this site.

Nothing is sold on this site and nothing you do here costs you money. Commission is paid by companies, after the fact, and it is the whole of what funds the work.

On a pricing site, there is one specific thing a reader is right to worry about: is the cheapest column really the cheapest, or is it the best-paying? The answer matters more than any general promise of independence, so it is worth spelling out.

• Commission never changes a price. Every figure on every board is read from the company's own page and is the same whether or not the company pays us.
• On the /best boards, partners are listed first, and the board says so. Companies that pay us a commission form a first group; everyone else follows. Inside each group the order is computed from the price rows, cheapest year first. The /cheapest boards have no partner group at all — price order, top to bottom.
• The cheapest row is computed from captured prices, never from payout. The comparison reads what providers charge. It has no access to what any of them pays us, because commercial terms are not part of the pricing data at all.
• Paying more does not move a company within its group. Being a partner is a yes-or-no fact. Inside the group there is no weighting, no bonus and no tiebreak that reads a payout.
• The true-year arithmetic is identical for everyone. A partner billing every four weeks gets the same thirteen-payment year as anyone else, and it is printed on their row.
• Unflattering facts about a partner stay in. A hard prepay requirement, an intro price that jumps, an awkward cancellation term, an FDA warning letter — all reported the same whether or not we are paid by the company.

Every affiliate site says commission does not affect its rankings. Here is what the sort on each kind of board actually does, in the same words the boards print.

Partner status comes from one list: the affiliate programs we have signed. That list does two things and only two. It puts a company in the first group on a /best board, and it marks the company's outbound link as sponsored. The price row itself carries a provider name, the advertised price, the walk-away price, the billing cycle, the capture date, the source URL and an optional note, and the partner list cannot write to any of them — so the figures you compare are the same for a partner as for anyone else.

Within each group on a /best board, and top to bottom on a /cheapest board, the order is recomputed from those prices on every render. Handing either sort a pre-arranged list changes nothing, and moving a company within its group would mean changing its price.

Provider links point at /go/<slug> on this domain rather than straight at the provider. That redirect counts the click, stamps campaign parameters onto the destination so the referral can be attributed, and forwards you on. Links to providers we are paid by carry rel="sponsored" in the markup, which is the machine-readable half of this disclosure; links to providers we are not paid by do not, and never falsely claim a paid relationship. The redirect paths are excluded from search crawling.

Every provider link routes this way, paid or not. That is on purpose: a company we are not paid by today might have a program tomorrow, and routing everything through the same redirect means that change is a link-table edit rather than a reason to revisit which providers get covered. What the redirect does and does not record about you is described in the privacy policy — in short, a daily tally per link, with no identifier attached to it.

Some of the companies covered on this site have affiliate programs we take part in. Many do not — some run no program at all, some run one we have not been accepted to, and some we have not applied to.

We do not publish a count or a list of current partners, and that is a considered position rather than evasiveness. A roster changes without notice: programs open, close, get paused, and change hands. A number printed on this page would be stale within weeks and would sit here being quietly wrong, in copy nobody re-reads. The durable, checkable disclosure is the per-link one described above — a paid link is marked as paid, in the markup, on the day you click it.

A provider with no affiliate program still gets a row on the board, still gets priced the same way, and still gets the top position if their walk-away price is the lowest. We do not restrict coverage to companies that can pay us, and we do not quietly drop the ones that cannot.

This matters more than it sounds. The commonest way an affiliate comparison misleads is not a rigged sort — it is a roster silently limited to the payers, so the genuinely cheapest option never appears at all. A board that omits the cheapest provider is wrong even if every row on it is sorted honestly.
